I have a podcast called Comics Who Love Comic Books. Today I was editing it and the file had a buzzing noise. Turns out you can easily reduce that in Audacity. Here’s a video.
Ric Ocasek Sounds Like a Jerk
Ric Ocasek’s oldest son, Chris, has branded his late father a “narcissist” who was “never present.”On the anniversary of his dad’s death on Sept. 15, Chris Otcasek (who uses the original spelling of the family name) went public with his feelings about his father when he captioned an Instagram photo of himself with Ric and brother Adam, “You don’t exist. We didn’t either.”

But still, Chris claimed that “my father, in essence, died the day I was born. He was never present, he was never there. Even when he was, he was never there and that’s the abandonment that I’m referring to.”

Garrett Gilbert’s Father Gale Gilbert Was A Quarterback, Too
Garrett Gilbert’s father, Gale Gilbert, was a quarterback too. It’s another case of father and son quarterbacks.

Garrett, of course, is currently the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys because everyone else is injured. Maybe he’ll win one someday. I’m sure his dad will be proud either way. Sports dads are proud of their kids even if they stink, and Gilbert just had a decent debut for (cough) “America’s team.” Following in dad’s footsteps is a nice thing. Playing in the NFL when you weren’t expecting to do so is even better.

Pruett also found that a father’s parenting style is beneficial for a child’s physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral development. Mothers reassure toddlers when they become frustrated while fathers encourage them to manage their frustration. This helps the children learn to deal with stress and frustration. A long-term study Pruett conducted proved that a father’s active involvement with his children, from birth to adolescence, promotes greater emotional balance, stronger curiosity and a stronger sense of self-assurance in the child.
