Paul Sorvino Has Words For Harvey Weinstein

I always wondered why Mira Sorvino didn’t work more as an actress after winning the Oscar for “Mighty Aphrodite“. Allegedly it is because Harvey Weinstein did everything in his considerable power to keep her off the silver screen.

TMZ asked Mira’s father Paul Sorvino what he thought of all this. Mr. Sorvino did not mince words.

Would you want Paul Sorvino pissed off at you? I wouldn’t. And yes, I know this is a scene from a movie.

One thing that has made me nuts with regard to the current wave of deserved firings and comeuppances of powerful men is the response some guys have made — “if it was my daughter/sister” etc. Actually… no. Whether or not you are related to a woman does not matter. No one deserves to be treated this way. Hell, if it’s true that Harvey Weinstein kept Mira Sorvino from being cast in movies because she wouldn’t sleep with him… jesus.

HOWEVER. If the woman wronged *is* your daughter, I think it’s fair to expect, shall we say, an extra level of outrage. Look at it like this — “imagine if it was your daughter”? No. It’s bad no matter what. But when it actually is your daughter? I don’t blame you for getting more mad. On the TMZ video, Mr. Sorvino is rather calm in my opinion.

Also, make sure to read through to part 5 of the tweet quoted above, which features video of Ms. Sorvino at a 2011 Senate briefing about sex trafficking. I will attempt to embed said Tweet here but as I admitted online I can thread a needle but tweets, not so much.

James Holmes, the man accused of shooting dozens of people at a screening of The Dark Knight Rises, will get a visit from his father.

From where did I get this news? TMZ.

Yes, that TMZ. Weird Al did a song parody of Taylor Swift’s ‘You Belong With Me’ called ‘TMZ’ on his recent album Alpocalypse. Whenever I hear “TMZ”, I think of that song. (This is why there’s a Weird Al video at the top of this post.) I certainly don’t think “trenchant news reporting”. So I was surprised to find that this particular TMZ broadcast did a nice job of reporting on the Colorado shooting.

Did Kelsey Grammer Avoid His Kids? [Gossip]

Apparently Kelsey Grammer, who played Stinky Pete in ‘Toy Story 2‘ (c’mon, he was awesome), is getting divorced again. And according to his soon-to-be ex, he may not be the world’s greatest dad.

TMZ say:

We’re told the tipping point for Camille was Father’s Day, when Kelsey was 2,475 air miles away from his family and didn’t call his kids.

Not that we have any inside knowledge of this nonsense, but on Father’s Day, it’s nice to call him, instead of making dad call you.

And not to take sides here, but this quote seemed a bit off:

As one source said, “She doesn’t know what Kelsey is doing in New York, but he’s made it pretty clear he wants nothing to do with marriage anymore,” adding, “She didn’t see it coming.”

OK, maybe she didn’t see it coming. But she didn’t know what he was doing in New York? He’s doing a musical on Broadway. Go visit the guy!

Rihanna Wearing Military Mickey Mouse Ears

Oh, and apparently her nipple is showing. Not posting the pics because they aren’t ours, but here’s what TMZ says:

While on the set of her latest video outside L.A. the other day, Rihanna wore her favorite Mickey Mouse ears helmet and unknowingly flashed one of her weapons.

By “weapons” they mean her, ahem. Cans.

Then they said this:

RiR’s bullet bra proved she’s armed and scandalous.

I have no idea what that means.

She’s a lovely young woman but the Mickey Mouse ears helmet is odd. I guess being super hot and having a good voice isn’t enough anymore.

This is… odd. More proof that there are many good looking people in California, but smarts are in short supply.

And yes, this is a live stream as of this writing. It appears to be tryouts or drills or something. They’re not in lingerie at the moment, maybe that’s only for games. See, football is a rough sports. I hope those girls don’t hurt themselves.
